This site introduces you to a qualified local electrician and gets the inspection booked. They carry out the work and sign the report in their own name, which is the part that gives it any value at all.

The model
One electrician, and you can check them
The usual arrangement in this trade is to sell an enquiry to several firms at once. It works well for whoever sold it and badly for everyone else: you field five calls, and each electrician prices knowing they have a one-in-five chance of the job.
Your details go to one electrician who has cleared our checks. What we check, and what gets someone turned away, is published in full rather than summarised as the word vetted.
An EICR is a statutory document that a local authority can ask a landlord to produce. It is worth precisely what the competent person signing it is worth, which is why the vetting is the product here rather than the marketing.

The law
Cited, dated, and re-checked
Everything this site says about the regulations carries its source and the date it was last verified. That is not decoration. Two of the facts on these pages changed within twelve months of being written: the maximum penalty rose to £40,000 in 2025, and in July 2026 the standard changed which classification codes make a report unsatisfactory.
Plenty of pages in this sector still describe the previous position on both. Some of them also state that commercial premises must be inspected every five years by law, which has never been true.
Where we have not been able to verify something, we leave it out and say why rather than printing a figure that looks authoritative.
